It’s the first of November, so it seemed like a perfect time for a new video of the week contest. We’ve got five great bands with five very different videos vying for your votes this week!
We make no secret of the fact that we’re huge supporters of Dream State, and absolutely loved their new album Primrose Path. Twenty Letters is the latest single to emerge from that album, and its accompanied by a wonderfully emotional video that in some ways feels like the sequel to the New Waves video. Check it out.
Their first new single in almost a year, Halflives have returned with a new line up and a huge twist on their sound. Down to being a three piece with no full time guitarist, Rockstar Everyday sees them going full on pop, driven by a ridiculously infectious bassline. The video sees the band living the high live in the vein of rock stars of times gone by – who’s to say they won’t achieve the same levels of success?
Currently on the road with none other than Motorhead legend Phil Campbell, King Creature’s brand new single Desolation is rather riff-tastic. Traditional metal with a 2019 twist, this is one that’ll get your headbanging and feet stomping. A simple yet very effective video lets King Creature show exactly what they’re all about. Plus who doesn’t love a bit of fire?!
One of the most visually stunning music videos of the year comes from the Finnish cello masters Apocalyptica, and their new single Rise. Set to release a brand new album early next year, some of the scenery and cinematogrophy in this video is literally jaw dropping. The tracks pretty good too. It must be seen to be fully appreciated.
Last but not least, we couldn’t have a video of the week contest around Halloween without at least one dark and spooky video. Filling that quota are clown metal newcomers The Injester with their debut single Apophenia. Yes, we did say clown metal. The video will speak for itself. It wouldn’t surprise us if they were fans of Bray Wyatt’s fiend persona from looking at the video.
So there we have it! The vote will close on Thursday 7th November at 12 midday UK time. All that’s left to do is get voting. Over to our readers!
