Rock Sins is proud to say we’ve been supporters of the Heavy Music Awards since it was founded in 2017 (check out our write up of the very first HMA’s on this link). For the last three years, The HMA’s have been a wonderful celebration of all things heavy, taking place in August of each year just before Reading and Leeds Festivals.

We’re very pleased to announce that the Heavy Music Awards will be returning once again in 2020. But, they’ve got a new timetable. They will be moving from their traditional August slot to a new time in May, just before Slam Dunk Festival. The new date for the Heavy Music Awards in 2020 is Thursday the 21st of May. As with last year, the HMA’s will take place at The Forum in Kentish Town.

Tickets will be available for the awards via public ballot, as they have been for every previous year. Bands to perform at the 2020 HMA’s will be announced in due course.

Our friend and HMA co-founder Dave Bradley provides an update on the decision to move the awards:

“HMA19 was a huge success at the O2 Forum – the entire team is superb and the venue worked perfectly for the Heavy Music Awards. We’re excited to return to Kentish Town with some great new additions to the day to create an even more memorable event for attendees, and even more value for our amazing sponsors and supporters.”

With the awards moving to earlier in the year, the voting process and shortlisting will also move. Exact details and a timetable will be confirmed in the future. Check out https://heavymusicawards.com/ for the latest details.
