Over the last couple of weeks there’s been even more festival announcements than usual for this time of year. So, we thought we would try and round them all up in one handy place for our readers to get a full fix of festival updates and news.
Firstly, there’s been a couple of recent updates from the team at Bloodstock Open Air Festival for the 2020 installment. Recently added to the main stage at BOA 2020 were thrashers Acid Reign, hardcore punks and fellow Simpsons devotees Svalbard and Idle Hands. Joining the Sophie Lancaster Stage line up are Swedish prog outfit Soen, tech/deathcore mob Viscera, Dog Tired and Bailer. They also announced the unveiling the Nordic Spirit Gaming Arena, featuring a range of XBOX, PS4 and PC gaming opportunities.
Then earlier this week, there was another Bloodstock announcement! Adding one more band to the Ronnie James Dio main stage line up for this year, Kentucky trad metallers Savage Master will kick things off on the Saturday of Bloodstock 2020. On top of that, there are five more bands for the Sophie Stage. Italian black / death metal group Blasphemer are joining the festivities, as are West Midlands rockers Liberty Lies, and UK doomsters Black Tongue. The Bury riff machine known as Pist are also joining the line up, and last but not least so are Italian djent collective Sharks In Your Mouth. Importantly, Bloodstock have also announced Mind as their charity partner for the year, and the awesome Patch Amnesty project will be on site at Catton Hall raising funds for Mind. If you’ve yet to get your tickets for Bloodstock 2020 – you can pick them up from Seetickets right now.
Not to be outdone, the organisers of 2000 Trees have announced a whopping 36 new bands for their July 2020 gathering. Top of the pile in the new announcement are the white hot Nova Twins, Americana darlings of the moment Spanish Love Songs and the scuzz rock styles of Beach Slang. On top of those three, the other 33 bands are *deep breath*: Demob Happy, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Hundredth, Airways, Hotel Lux, Together Pangea, The Virginmarys, Haggard Cat, Fangclub, 68, Ditz, Stake, Static Dress, Erica Freas, Delair the Liar, S.T. Manville, Chloe Moriondo, Bob Vylan, Bent Knee, Gatherers, Giver, Tom Jenkins, Harry Marshall, InTechnicolour, Grief Ritual, Superlove, Sapphire Blues, Lande Hekt, Katie Malco, Holiday Oscar, Non Canon, Zeb and Andrew Cushin. All of these join the likes of Jimmy Eat World and Creeper at 2000 Trees 2020! Tickets for 2000 Trees can be obtained here.
There has also been a new Slam Dunk Festival announcement this week, which you can find out about on this link.
Run by the same team as 2000 Trees, the excellent ArcTanGent Festival 2020 line up got even more impressive this week, as they announced their second headliner and a tonne more bands. That headliner is the majestically dark Chelsea Wolfe, who will headline the Thursday night of ArcTanGent 2020. Joining Chelsea Wolfe is one of the undisputed queens of post rock and post metal, Emma Ruth Rundell, and the much loved US post rockers Caspian. In addition to those three acts, there are a whole load more added to ArcTanGent, and they are as follows:
Bell Witch & Aerial Ruin, Intronaut, Talons, Arabrot, Wheel, The Guru Guru, Latitudes, Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, Bonnacons of Doom, Jakub Zytecki / Parachute For Gordo, Binge, Stoßzahn, Pollyanna Holland-Wing, The Most, Shake the Baby Til the Love Comes Out, Spook The Horses, Traps, Wess Meets West, Paranoid Void, Catbamboo, Beige Palace and STANLÆY. Tickets for ArcTanGent 2020 can be obtained from the festival right now.
Lastly for today, the wonderfully eclectic Supersonic Festival have made their first line up announcement for 2020. Our personal highlight from the first announcement would be the wonderfully talented A.A. Williams, while she is joined by the likes of Blanck Mass, psych rock outfit Bada, Chicago rifflords Oozing Wound and Atlanta outfit Algiers. Supersonic also welcome Richard Dawson as their headliner for 2020! The full line up as it stands can be seen on the Tarot Card like poster below:
Tickets for Supersonic 2020 will be on sale from Friday 28th of February at 10am.
