A new band to our ears here at Rock Sins, South Coast UK rockers Young Pretorians have made a great impression with their new single “The Shakes”. Offering a UK twist on bands like The Menzingers, Spanish Love Songs and The Gaslight Anthem, Young Pretorians have that Americana punk style of sounding old beyond their years on their new single.

Check out the video for The Shakes here:

Frontman Pete Darwent offers some thoughts and background info about the writing of The Shakes:

“The Shakes is a song about working dead end jobs that grind you down over time and the realisation that you should be working for your own benefit not someone else’s.

As far as we know you only get one time around so you need to make sure you don’t waste it for other peoples gains
.

The track is coming from our joint experiences in this journey called life, so we’re really excited to hear what everyone thinks!”

Having only formed in 2019, Young Pretorians will be one to keep an eye on throughout the rest of 2021. The band previously released two other singles, Three Stage T-Shirt Tan, and A Way Out, last year, both of which you can check out below.

You can keep up-to-date with Young Pretorians on Twitter and other social media platforms while you wait for more music!
