Sleep Waker will release their second album Alias on July 23rd. The album is the follow-up to 2018’s Don’t Look At The Moon, and will again explore the first album’s concepts of reality and what it really means to be alive.
Ahead of the release of Alias, the band have also shared the video to new single 110 Minutes, which you can watch below:
“110 Minutes is one of the most energetic songs on the record, but it still holds the same melancholic theme of change brought from loss”, explains the band. “We really wanted to highlight that while Alias may have more melodic experimentation with songs like Distance and Skin, a song like 110 Minutes is a perfect showcase of our signature heavy sound that we’re still developing while perfecting the newer elements.”
As well as blending melody and heaviness, Alias promises to continue to reflect the Michigan five piece’s inspirations, including science fiction classics like Blade Runner and The Matrix, as well as the surrealism of Twin Peaks.
With timely questions about the nature of reality mixed with brutal riffs, Alias is set to propel Sleep Waker to the forefront of the metalcore crowd.
