Willow Smith (aka WILLOW), actress, rapper, singer and daughter of Will Smith has come a long way since her Whip My Hair days. Releasing her fourth album, she’s unleashed her inner pop punk princess, collaborating with some of our pop punk heroes and making us feel like we’re back in our early teens – and we are so here for it!

Following on from her previous single release, t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l, which featured Travis Barker, the 20-year old has shared, a catchy, summer pop punk banger, which features Avril Lavigne, as well as Barker.

GROW discusses feelings of self-awareness and acceptance in knowing that it’s OK to take time to work on yourself, and also being aware that you may still have a long way to go, as reflected in the opening lyrics: “I’ve been putting work in, healing myself. Still got room to grow.” which is then followed by the chorus of “Cause no one ever truly knows just who they are. And I feel closer knowing I don’t have to hide my scars”

The perfect blending of Willow and Avril Lavigne on this track merges the pop punk era of those now in our 30s-40s, with those in their early teens/20s, reminding us that we all still have room to grow.
