PVRIS Release Empowering New Track ‘My Way’

PVRIS have just dropped a confident new single highlighting the multi-talented Lyndsey Gunnulfsen’s leadership of the band following the exit of former guitarist Alex Babinski last year. Delving into the topic of self-growth, My Way looks at how overcoming personal struggles and embracing all that life has to offer will lead you to where you’re supposed to be.

My Way is a song about accepting and embracing the trials and tribulations of the past, present, and future.” Lynn explains. “It’s about facing the pain, loss, hard times, and hard decisions while finding empowerment and humility (and a sprinkle of humour) through it all. Life always pushes us toward great change and growth. When we stop fighting it and flow with it, we offer ourselves, and others, so much more. Whatever way it takes us, our paths are all so uniquely our own. You have your way and I have my way.”

This message signifies not only the band’s changing line-up, but also the evolution of their sound since their debut album White Noise in 2014. While the chorus of My Way is somewhat devoid of distinctive melody, its absence is made up for by a catchy chant that is unlikely to leave your head for the foreseeable future. Driving the chorus is a synth groove that gives the track an electronic, dance quality. This fresh new sound is a far cry from the more traditionally rock feel of the band’s earlier work.

Alongside their summer release, Monster, My Way follows up last year’s album Use Me, which was shaped by Lynn’s newly discovered creative control. Written, sung and played by Gunn herself, the album received praise from the likes of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, NME and many other publications.

PVRIS will tour the UK next year:

7th May: Manchester – O2 Victoria Warehouse
8th May: Glasgow – O2 Academy
9th May: Birmingham – O2 Academy
11th May: London – O2 Academy Brixton
