Manchester-based pop-punk band Hot Milk have a brand new single and the announcement of a forthcoming EP. The new record will be titled The King And Queen Of Gasoline and focuses on tearaways and delinquents, based on band members Han Mee and Jim Shaw as the King and Queen of their own dark underworld.
The six track EP which was written and produced by the band in a bedroom in Salford follows on from 2019’s Are You Feeling Alive? and 2021’s I JUST WANNA KNOW THAT HAPPENS WHEN I’M DEAD, which garnered 30million streams and propelled the band into the spotlight winning tours with the likes of the Foo Fighters, The Band Camino and Pale Waves.
Alongside the announcement comes lead single Bad Influence, which focuses on what you might expect, bad influences as lead singer Mee explains “we’ve been told we’ve been a bad influence since we were kids, so u know what, maybe we are? but it’s only coz we have a thirst for life n go against the traditional.”

The King And Queen Of Gasoline EP explores the resistance of control, whether it be through parents or relationships that leave you feeling stifled and judged. These themes are threaded throughout their music which has become a lifeline to the band.
Speaking of how the EP came about Jim Shaw stated: “We wanted to personify this feeling of oppression and give it a face, the bunny cult you’ll see visually throughout the record gives us something to rage at.”
Mee then added “This has been a labour of love, almost hate and therapy all in one. Through this record we want to create an intentional space where liberation and the ability to be free of expectation can be lived. We are the King and Queen Of Gasoline. The best at nearly ruining it all, fucking up and everything nearly going up in flames.”
The King And Queen Of Gasoline is set for release on August 5th via Music For Nations. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
