MOD SUN Shares New Single ‘Rich Kids Ruin Everything’

MOD SUN has released his first new music since the highly successful release of his 2021 album Internet Killed The Rockstar, which has now surpassed 100 million streams. Continuing the revival of the pop-punk genre MOD SUN and John Feldmann have again teamed up on this anthemic new release Rich Kids Ruin Everything, which features nostalgic guitar riffs and melodies with some of MOD’s boldest lyrics to date.

The single pokes fun at the “rich kids” on platforms like TikTok feigning interest in the punk rock culture because they think it’s cool. The song also comes with a fun video where the musician can be seen messing around in supermarket trolleys whilst people perform a choreographed dance around him.

After dropping his new single, the singer and producer often referred to as pop-punk royalty spoke of his love for the genre:

“I grew up a scene kid, a skateboarder and a pop punk kid…It’s both awesome and hilarious yet confusing seeing the general public and pop culture embracing all the things that I would get torn down for. This is a song that I wrote for all the kids who feel confident in their own skin…There’s more to this world than what’s currently popular. I want kids to feel like it’s important to be visionaries not followers.”

Though this is MOD SUN’s first music in a while he has been busy elsewhere, recently he co-wrote and produced tracks on Avril Lavigne’s latest album Love Sux which hit number 2 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart and will be joining his now fiancée on her Bite Me 2022 Canadian Tour in May. He also gave a raw, unfiltered look at his life in the documentary Remember Me Just Like This, which featured many of his friends and collaborators such as the aforementioned Avril, Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker and Huddy

Additionally, fans have a feature film to look forward too called Good Mourning which will hit the theatres in May. The film was co-written and directed with Machine Gun Kelly and follows the life of a movie star, London Ransom, who is forced to choose between trying to save his relationship and landing a starring role in a new film.
