Scandinavian metal favourites Arch Enemy are gearing up for an extensive period of touring. Ahead of the worldwide trek, they’ve unveiled a brand new music video for their song Poisoned Arrow, a track from last years’ hit album Deceivers.
The video is from Arch Enemy’s trademark visual style; full of detail and elaborate creations as the band find themselves in what looks like a decaying art gallery in the middle of a snow shower, where the story unfolds. Check out the video for Deceivers for yourselves here:
Arch Enemy’s axeman Michael Amott had this to say about their new single, and the filming of the video:
I almost can’t believe we’re releasing a 7th (!) video off our recent ‘Deceivers’ album. Yet here it is, ‘Poisoned Arrow’, a mid-tempo track drenched in melodic guitar work and a somewhat different vibe overall compared the other singles we’ve had out.
The video was shot in Berlin, Germany during a hectic whirlwind schedule with director Mirko Witzki and his talented crew – they even made it snow in the middle of the sweltering German summer heat! Here’s another Deutschland connection for you; our German friend Raphy played the beautiful cello part on the intro and outro of the song, thanks again mate!
2023 is upon us and Arch Enemy is back on the road again, we launch the proceedings in New Zealand, Australia and Japan and have a big European summer run too. Who knows where we’ll go after that…but for now, check out ‘Poisoned Arrow’!”
Arch Enemy are embarking on a tour of Australia and New Zealand later this month. This is followed by a run of shows in Japan, before returning to Europe this Summer for festival season. No UK appearances are currently scheduled for this run, but is there a Download Festival sized gap in the schedule? Time will tell!
