Dead Poet Society Share New Double Single ‘Running In Circles’ & ‘HURT’

Dead Poet Society have returned with a double treat of two new tracks. Sharing their new double single ‘Running In Circles’/’HURT’, the band have also dropped a double feature music video.

Talking on the tracks, the band shared: “‘Running in Circles’ explores the paranoid voices inside our heads, It’s about the struggle of being real with yourself — avoiding the ‘fake.’ Sometimes, it feels impossible to avoid, It was written about not being true to yourself and the shame that follows.”

Continuing to discuss the release, ‘HURT,’ the band explain, “There’s not a lot in life that’s more gut-wrenchingly frustrating than trying desperately for years to build a career and having little to show for it. From living on floors and friends’ couches or out of your car, to working job after job just barely making ends meet, to going on tour and coming back with less money than you had before. We wrote this song as a symbol of that nagging doubt and insecurity. The doubt that consumes you and that can be triggered by people or events in your life, but more often than not, again it’s the voice inside your head.”

The two new tracks are the first glimpse of what the band have been creating since their last releases in 2021 with the deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed debut album “!” Adding six new tracks and a selectin of stripped back, live, and remixed tracks, it was the definition of luxury.

Continuing to spend a large amount of time on the road to grow their already impressive fan base, the band have performed the main stage of 2000trees festival this summer, as well as a handful of sold out UK and European headline dates.

As a band that are an insane act to see live, fans will be delighted with the announcement of an extensive UK and European headline tour kicking off in February and March 2024. Having previously toured with the likes of Biffy Clyro, Badflower, Highly Suspect and BRKN Love, you know this is a high quality act. If you’ve been lucky enough to catch them at festivals such as Download or Reading & Leeds in recent years, you already know this tour is huge news. If not, it’s time to get to know.
