Following on from the first phase of the bands highly successful coloured vinyl reissues. This week Bay Area thrash metal heavyweights, Metallica announced phase two of their much lauded back catalogue vinyl releases!
Set to include classic cover album Garage Inc, on limited edition ‘Fade to Blue’ coloured wax. As well as a ‘Some Kind of Orange’ pressing 2003’s much maligned St Anger. With two more modern albums in the form of Death Magnetic and Hardwired To Self Destruct. Which will be made available for the first time ever on ‘Magnetic Silver’ and ‘Flame Orange’ respectively. The bands latest announcement already has heavy metal fans and record collectors everywhere champing at the bit to add yet more vinyl rarities from Hetfield & Co. to their shelves.
Kicking off on the 5th of April and running until July 5th. Phase two will see one brand new reissue land in all good record stores every month. With all four available to pre-order now via the bands official store.
Eagle eyed fans may notice a gap in the growing collection of reissues. With Load and Reload both being notably absent from Metallica’s latest slate of upcoming re-releases. Despite having ended phase one with …And Justice For All, making the double album a prime candidate for the same treatment. However, Metallica have bigger plans for Load and Reload. With a recent Instagram post having all but already confirmed special edition box sets are in the works. Which are likely to be in the same vein as the bands mammoth collectors edition of The Black Album that landed in 2021.
