Bristol Emo/Alt Rockers downcast Mark Their Return With New Single bittersweet

Bristol emo/alt quartet downcast made quite a splash with their 2022 debut album i saw hell when i was with you. Showing early signs of promise to be one of the UK’s answers to bands like The Wonder Years and Spanish Love Songs, downcast are living up to their potential with their first new music since their debut album.

Their brand new single, bittersweet, is out now. The track is both a reflection on nostalgia and on the good and bad parts of times gone by, and also a tribute to a dearly missed friend of the band who passed away a couple of years ago. The video for bittersweet plays firmly into the nostalgia theme, where viewers and fans can play spot the 90’s reference. You can also see multiple locations and landmarks around the band’s hometown of Bristol.

“bittersweet’ was written to commemorate a close friend who we lost just under two years ago. It describes the conflicting feelings of fondness and grief that come with revisiting a place associated with someone who is no longer with us. The accompanying music video will make all ’90s kids feel nostalgic.

It feels great to be back, more confident than ever and ready to burst back onto the scene with our best material to date.
