Texas pop punk favourites Bowling For Soup are celebrating their 30th anniversary this weekend with a set of special shows in their home state of Texas. Alongside this special celebration, frontman Jaret Ray Reddick also has some news to share.
Anyone who has followed Bowling For Soup and Jaret across this website, their social media or in general over the last several years will know that mental health is a topic very dear to Jaret’s heart. With this in mind, his new single There Is You has a very special mental health focus. Released last week to bring further visibility to Mental Health Awareness Month, There Is You has a simple message: The world is better with you in it.

Mental Health wasn’t something that was ever even on my radar. I thought depression meant “sad” and that certainly wants something that applied to me. When anxiety and later depression kicked in my door, my life was forever changed. It took a long time to get here, but I’m ok. I want people who are suffering to know that they can be too. ‘There is hope. There is love. And thank god there is you’.

Jaret Reddick is next back in the UK in a couple of weeks time in mid June with the rest of Bowling For Soup. BFS will play two sets across the 2024 Download Festival (acoustic Saturday night, main stage Sunday). They then head to Ireland for three shows in Dublin and Belfast, supported by As December Falls.
