The most glorious weekend in July has once again. 2000trees 2024 is finally here! What’s better than attending a stacked music festival? Getting to join the fun a day before anyone else. Boasting a tiny capacity of 3000 attendees on Wednesday, these tickets are like gold dust and so worth the fight to get them. Wednesday at 2000trees always has that extra sparkle about it as you’re surrounded by other people who want to indulge in every possible second they can at Upcote Farm.
The best thing about attending on Wednesday is it gives you the chance to find the perfect pitch for your tent, get familiar with the surroundings (although the majority of the crowd are trees veterans who will know the site like the back of their hand) and plan out how you’re going to squeeze in catching as much of the incredible line-up as possible.
Back for its third year and looking more nestled within the trees; The Forest stage is continually packed out, with a bit more space being opened up it still seems the crowds are overflowing to get up close and personal with the acts. The Forest has always been a special spot at trees. With an atmosphere and setting you couldn’t find anywhere else; it’s just one of the things that sets trees aside from other festivals. In previous years it’s been known for its small, intimate, and acoustic sets.
Now we’ve been upgraded to full on sets you could expect to see on the main stage. Offering up some teasers for the weekend, Pet Needs, The Xcerts and Boston Manor gave sneak previews of what could be expected for second sets.
If there’s one thing trees are known for, it’s having a line-up so stacked you are bound to have something clash. Combine that with the Euros semi finals with England and there’s another clash in the equation. With just days to organise something for the football fanatics, the tree’s organisers pulled it out the bag and set the axiom up for the game.
What happens if you’re the band that’s on while England are playing? Dream State had just the answer and set up a screen for the game so fans could get their sporting fix in while rocking out to one of the most exciting bands around.
Rounding things off for the live music, Boston Manor took to the stage in the forest and delivered a set that could easily have been heard all the way back at the barn while getting everyone hyped for their Axiom set the next day.
We all know the fun doesn’t end when the bands stop for the day. For the noise that was generated from everyone in attendance, you would’ve thought the full capacity was dancing the night away to the silent disco. Having the extra day at 2000trees is the perfect set up to get you even more excited for the stacked weekend.
