Pop punk legends Sum 41 released their final music video earlier this week. Saying a bittersweet farewell to fans after 29 years with the fittingly titled, Radio Silence.
Sum 41 have been out on their final farewell tour for the last year. Selling out arena after arena, paying fitting tribute to their near three decade long career. Which culminated late last month, when the group hung up their instruments for the final time after being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Introduced at the event by fellow pop punk luminaries, Benji and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley had this to say about their time together as a band-
“All the struggles had made all the successes feel that much greater. We’re proud of this journey, it’s been exciting, it’s been dangerous, but most of all, it’s been honest.”
Whatever the future holds for them as individuals. With over 15 million records sold, countless awards and no.1 hits under their studded belts and a back catalogue that evokes nostalgia in the hearts of even the most hardened milenials. Sum 41 have left an indelible mark on rock music and we wish them all the best!
Their final album, Heaven x Hell is available to purchase now. While sadly, there may be no more official announcements to come from the band themselves, you can still share your favourite Sum 41 memories via their social media.
