Muse Return With Haunting Track ‘Unravelling’

English rock trio Muse have returned with the release of their brand-new single “Unravelling”.
The song shows off the band’s trademark fusion of electronic rock and metal. The single
officially dropped across all major streaming platforms today, and was first aired globally on
BBC Radio 1.

‘Unravelling’ has already made its live debut at the band’s show in Helsinki, where the fans were
greeted with the haunting intro that crescendos into an intense, riff-driven finale. The track is the
first Muse song to feature an eight string guitar teased by frontman Matt Bellamy, a few weeks
prior. The song has been described as “heavy” and features “digital hums and tension” before
“detonating into a riff-heavy meltdown”, with the band “travelling into a darker, djent-ier world”.

Muse have been teasing new material since May 20th. Social media began posting with an
image of Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme engulfed in orange lighting, with the caption “An
insect trapped in amber” an image of drummer Dom Howard engulfed in orange lighting,
accompanied by a mosquito emoji and orange heart emoji, and a video of Muse’s performance
of “Mercy” in 2015, which distorted halfway through to display the words “I’m a static hum”.

Back in February, Wolstenholme opened up on the future of the band following 2022’s ‘Will of
The People’, stating that the band would be returning to the studio “in the next couple of
months” to work on new material. He also discussed the possibility of a 2026 release for Muse’s
tenth studio album. The announcement came ahead of the band’s planned summer shows in
Europe.

Fans can stream ‘Unravelling’ now and catch Muse live on tour throughout Europe this summer,
including a headline stop in Clisson, France for Hellfest. You can head over to the bands official website for more information on all their upcoming shows. As the dawn of a new album era
approaches, “Unravelling” positions Muse to deliver another chapter of ambitious, genre-
bending rock.

“Unravelling” is out now via all music media platforms.
