Florence + The Machine Announce Spellbinding New Album “Everybody Scream”

Florence Welch has confirmed her sixth studio album as Florence + The Machine, “Everybody Scream,” set for release on 31st October – perfectly timed for Halloween. The album’s title track debuted today with a striking video directed by Autumn de Wilde, offering a first glimpse into what promises to be Florence’s most haunting and spellbinding work yet.

Written and produced over the past two years, Everybody Scream finds Welch working with a close circle of collaborators including Mark Bowen of IDLES – who appears in the video for “Everybody Scream” – Aaron Dessner, and Mitski.

The album emerges from a deeply personal chapter in Welch’s life. After needing lifesaving surgery during the Dance Fever tour, her recovery led her toward spiritual mysticism, witchcraft, and folk horror as she wrestled with the fragility of the body and the search for healing. Lyrically, the record explores womanhood, partnership, aging, and death, finding the uncanny in the everyday.

Across her career, Florence + The Machine has redefined what it means to be a modern rock poet. From her breakthrough with Lungs in 2009 through to 2022’s Dance Fever, she has topped charts worldwide, headlined festivals, and cemented herself as one of the most distinctive voices of her generation. Along the way, she’s collaborated with icons such as The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift, and published her own book of lyrics, poetry, and art, Useless Magic.

Now, with Everybody Scream, Florence turns her gaze toward the shadows – inviting listeners into an album that feels both intimate and otherworldly. On Halloween night, the world will hear her howl.

The title track Everybody Scream is out now on all streaming platforms. [Listen here]
