Last night at O2 Academy Brixton felt less like a gig and more like being caught in a controlled electrical storm. From the moment the lights dropped, there was this low, simmering anticipation that snapped into chaos as the Muse tore into their opener—no slow build, no easing in, just immediate, full-throttle intensity.
What stood out most was how tight everything felt. The sound was huge, but never messy, even when the set leaned into their heavier, more chaotic moments. Every riff landed with precision, every beat felt deliberate. The balance between raw energy and technical control was honestly impressive—it’s one thing to sound good on record, but pulling that off live, in a venue like Brixton, is something else.
The crowd fed into it in a big way. There’s something about that venue—the way the floor bounces, the way the sound wraps around you—that amplifies everything. By the middle of the set, it felt like the entire room was moving as one. Even during the quieter moments, there was this collective focus, like nobody wanted to miss a second.
