Welcome back to the Rock Sins Weekly Playlist! Our first instalment of 2023 is jam packed with new tracks from the first part of the new year, with everyone from Fall Out Boy to Metallica!
We may as well kick off with Fall Out Boy, as their new single Love From The Other Side is the best thing they’ve released since Save Rock N’Roll by some distance. Certain members of our team wouldn’t agree with that statement – but they’re not writing this round up! Metallica continue to build the rock n’roll / Kill Em All mixed vibes with Screaming Suicide – a song that as the title suggests, covers some very serious subject material.
The home grown heavy contingent are very well represented this week, led by our friends As Everything Unfolds who have dropped another cracking track with Ultraviolet. With 3 brilliant singles out of 3, that album is shaping up very nicely indeed! They are joined by Yorkshire metalcore crew Waterlines, nu wave of nu metal outfit Black Coast, Riff crew Shadow Smile, Peterborough post-hardcore newcomers Keep This Up and a band we can quite frankly only describe as metal as fuck, Grief Symposium.
The well established acts are equally out in force too. Swedish metal royalty In Flames are another band who are shaping up for a great album based on singles, with Meet Your Maker another great offering. Their fellow Scandinavians Insomnium have also released a great new track, and we also have songs from Ville Valo, Enter Shikari, Can’t Swim, Paramore, Babymetal and Katatonia. To switch it up, there is also a trio of high quality NWOCR / Southern Rock tracks from Black Stone Cherry, LoveSick Radio and Those Damn Crows. Last but not least, we have Trivium covering Heaven Shall Burn, fresh off the bands epic show at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
