As if there wasn’t enough good bands and acts on the bill already, a certain Mr Andy Copping and his team have just pushed the boat out once again with a further twenty six additions to the Download Festival 2013 line up.

The main part of this announcement is the unveiling of the lineup for the Jagermeister Acoustic Stage, which has been a fixture in the Download arena for the last few years. this announcement isn’t just for bands on the acoustic stage though as they’ve made a few additions elsewhere too.

Where to start this time? How about with one of Norway’s finest exports of recent times Kvelertak! Armed with their new album Meir expect Kvelertak to lay waste to Donington Park during their set. They may have had several false retirements over the last few years but the addition of classic Brit rockers Thunder to the second stage on Saturday will promise entertainment and a true rock classic singalong to Love Walked In so if you like your rock ballads make sure not to miss that. Other bands who are gearing up for Donington having been added to the bill include the returning Page 44, The Howling, Wounds, Zico Chain, The Wild Lies, Black Moth and Kvelertak’s fellow Norwegian metallers Blood Command.

Over on the acoustic stage none other than the legend that is Devin Townsend is making an appearance for a stripped down performance that could be one of the weekends’ highlights. Devy will have a wide range of acts joining him on the acoustic stage across the weekend, from pop punks We Are The Ocean to Terrorvision performing under their alter ego’s Acoustic TV. The rest of the bands and acts who will be appearing only on the Acoustic stage this year are Straight Lines, Crash Mansion, The Graveltones, Hear Kitty Kitty, Arthemis, Pig Iron, Rob Lynch, The Killing Floor, The Afterparty, Toseland, Avosetta, Fahran and Night x Night.

Some bands will also be doing double duty across the weekend, with both full band and acoustic performances such as Red, White & Blues, Skin, Crowns, rising stars of the British rock scene Heaven’s Basement, Walking Papers and Buffalo Summer.

All these bands join the masses of bands already announced alongside headliners Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein and second stage headliners Black Stone Cherry, Enter Shikari and Limp Bizkit.
