Radio presenter John Wood hosts a weekly radio show, The Monday Rock Hour, on Cam FM, one of the UK’s most listened to student radio stations. Each week, Wood features unsigned bands, giving them an opportunity to get their music played and promoted on the show; this was received well by both listeners and bands alike. Wood decided that he’d step up the game and include a live music event which features four quality unsigned acts.

In this four part article, I’ll be bringing you info on the first four bands to ever play The Monday Rock Hour Presents!

First up are Kingdom Keys!

Hailing from Norfolk and Lincolnshire and described as a local supergroup by local media this band is definitely work checking out! After spending a decade dabbling in the music scene with numerous rock, metal, and cover bands over the last decade it was time to start a new project with mutual respect and musical chemistry. In January 2015 Kingdom Keys was born; debuting themselves at Norwich’s Waterfront.

Allow me to introduce you to Sam Cook on vocals and acoustic guitar, Daniel Bareford and Danny de Ara Torres, on guitar and backing vocals, Simon Benefer on piano and backing vocals, Jay Harrison on bass and backing vocals, and last but not least the non vocalist but highly important Jake Graham on drums! With such a diverse background the have a melodic rock sound with a wide scope of various influences.

The Monday Rock Hour show will be their second ever gig as a band; guitarist Danny says that the response was fantastic so we’re looking forward to seeing what the guys have got in store for us!

You want to know what they sound like? You’re in luck, earlier this month the band released their first single ‘You Are Not Alone’ which can be found on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Spotify. You’ll have to hold tight for their debut EP; it is on its way!
