Rock Sins Video Of The Week

We didn’t have time for a video of the week contest last week, following on from Yorkshire rockers As Sirens Fall’s win last time out, so we’ve made up for it this time with a bumper contest featuring no less than eight new videos.

The only place we can start this week is with Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy’s debut solo track from his upcoming album Year Of The Tiger. The single, which shares the name of the album, is quite the departure from what fans of Kennedy’s work with Alter Bridge and Slash are used to, and is a very interesting teaser ahead of the album’s release in March next year.

From one acclaimed singer to another, with the brand new single from Brian Fallon. Brian and his band have gone very old school for the black and white video for Forget Me Not, which is the first single from his new album Sleepwalkers, releasing in February 2018. The video is very effective, and the song has an old school rock n’roll vibe to it (something Brian is no stranger to). His ever growing fanbase will lap it up.

Instrumental prog rockers Long Distance Calling have just announced their new album is releasing in February and are giving us the first taste of it with Out There. This is an absolutely stunning video capturing some amazing scenery. It’s nine minutes long so get yourself a drink and somewhere peaceful to watch it, and crank it loud. This is something special.

UK rockers Kill The Ideal make their first appearance at Rock Sins in this weeks’ video of the week with their new track Crazy. The video is simple, yet effective, and the track has some serious riffwork going on, so it could evolve into quite the earworm for many.

The next band up for this weeks’ video of the week are more newcomers to Rock Sins in the form of Swedish outfit Kerbera. Another very visually impressive video to give Long Distance Calling a run for their money, Love Like A Loaded Gun’s visual textures make an impact. The song is pretty good too.

Returning to homegrown talent, Go Primitive are offering up a job interview process with a difference in the video for A Different Person. The video is one of the most fun we’ve seen all year, and is backed up by the Warwickshire rockers trademark hooked filled sound on their new single. This one definitely gets the thumbs up from us.

French metallers Resolve are also included this week with their new single Navel-Gazing taken from their debut EP Reverie, which is out now. They seem partial to a bit of fire and some very cool lighting in the video for Navel-Gazing, and their brand of melodic metal is highly enjoyable on top.

Lastly this week, Swedish extreme metallers Bitch Hawk have teamed up with well known YouTuber ElectroBOOM for the video for “Death”. The combination of speed metal and video misadventure is something that works very well together, and it’s only a shame it doesn’t last a little bit longer!

So, there we have it. Eight bands do battle in this bumper video of the week. The vote closes on the 14th of December at 12pm midday UK time. Only one can win. Get voting!
