Following Paramore’s triumph in our last video of the week contest, we’ve got a new batch of bands for our listeners to vote on to crown our newest video of the week winner.
Where else can we start this time out but with the return of the black metal masters Dimmu Borgir. Their new song Interdimensional Summit is a slight departure from many of their previous efforts, with more of a power metal approach than in albums gone by, and it will be very interesting to see if this continues across their upcoming new album Eonian
Hailing from the South Coast, post-hardcore mob Dissonants are a new band to the Rock Sins stereo, but from the sounds of latest single Exhale, they’re definitely ones to keep your eyes and ears on. The video is a very simple yet effective, dark and brooding performance video, allowing the music to do the talking.
Bet you’d never see a music video all about lemons did you? Well south western UK all female rock trio iDestroy had other ideas. Typically spiky as many of their songs are, iDestroy are a wonderful slice of modern rock with a huge dose of girl power. If you’re not familiar with them, this is your perfect chance to get acquainted.
With a video set in the rather unusual location of a salvage yard, Essex rockers Sun Arcana are set to impress with new single Fracture. Their new EP As I Take A Breath is released tomorrow (9th March) and they’ve been attracting praise from the likes of Kerrang, and with songs like Fracture it’s easy to see why! Yet another very promising new rock band taking a step up.
Having recently hit the heights of number six in the UK album charts, home grown rock n’roll collective The Temperance Movement are on a career high. The first single from their highly successful album A Deeper Cut is called Caught In The Middle. Channelling the likes of The Rolling Stones in their pomp, if you like old school rock and roll and aren’t familiar with these guys, they could be your new favourite band.
Last up this week, US outfit From Ashes To New are back with their huge new single Crazy. With a video that includes the use of a padded room, it certainly lives up to the track’s title. Their new album The Future is out on the 20th of April and this is a very promising indication of what is to come.
The voting for this weeks’ contest closes at 12pm midday UK time on Thursday 15th of March. There can be only one winner (unless of course, bands get the same numbers of votes), so get choosing your favourites!
