You Me At Six have today revealed the title and release date for their forthcoming Eight album. Coming early in 2023, the band will be back with a full release of Truth Decay, landing 27th January 2023.
Alongside this incredibly exciting announcement, the band have also shared phenomenal new track Mixed Emotions (I Didn’t know How To Tell You What I Was Going Through) This new track gives a massive energy of earlier album releases, all while brining in a new twist. Upon the first few seconds of listening, you know it’s a track that will so easily get stuck on repeat. Josh Franceschis vocals shine through with a raw, rough and emotional power. Met with a pop rock sound and infused with glorious trumpets throughout, if this track is anything to go by their upcoming album will be some of their greatest work to date.
Commenting on the album, Josh shared:
“The album generally is the band doing all the things that we as a band think we’re good at and just embellishing them and finessing those ideas and just trying to do retrospective, quintessential YMAS but in 2022 and give that a new lease of life. For us we saw people around us, our peers and some new blood coming through that were doing emo rock music again and we thought ‘well we know how to do that and we want the world to know how we do it’.”
With this newest body of work, the band have created a record that boasts the incredible sounds of modern British rock while also celebrating their own triumphant career. Having continued to go from strength to strength over the years, their passion for creating groundbreaking music clearly has not weakened.
You Me At Six are currently on their US sold out tour as they gear themselves up for the release of Truth Decay. UK fans don’t have too much longer to wait with the band returning to UK shows in February 2023.
