Foxhaunt have had quite the last month or so. The Leeds alt-rock four piece dropped a brand new single, and then played some of their most successful shows so far.
Their new single, A New Beginning, is UK alt rock with the attitude dialled all the way up – in a good way. Give A New Beginning a listen here:
Here are the band to give some more info about their new track:
“A New Beginning” marks a powerful turning point for us — both thematically and sonically. The song explores the journey of reclaiming one’s identity and freedom after being entangled in a toxic, manipulative dynamic. It’s about seeing through deception, processing emotional fallout, and ultimately choosing to start over. At its core, it’s a narrative of self-empowerment — of letting go of the past and stepping into a new chapter with clarity and purpose.
From a musical standpoint, this release represents a significant evolution for us as a band. We leaned into a heavier, more eclectic sound that reflects where we are creatively. This track felt like the ideal way to introduce that shift — darker, more dynamic, and unapologetically bold.
writing process pushed us further than anything we’ve done before. We deliberately stepped outside of our comfort zone, experimenting with new sounds and chord progressions. Vocally, we drew inspiration from artists like Bad Omens and Bring Me The Horizon, aiming to craft melodies that are both haunting and hook-driven. To support that, we dropped our tuning — allowing the vocals to soar above a thicker, more aggressive low end. The result is a sound that feels fresh but still unmistakably us.
A New Beginning is the follow up to Foxhaunt’s previous single, The Daylight Between Us, which the band released back in April. The Daylight Between Us features Sixth Wonder frontwoman Rebekah Kirk on guest vocals.
Live, Foxhaunt have recently played a weekend full of successful shows in Birmingham, Norwich and London. Their flexibility of style means they’d be a good fit for touring with all kinds of bands. They’ve just played with All Ears Avow, and most recently supported Hands Like Houses in their Leeds hometown on the 4th of October.
The next chance to see Foxhaunt live is in Leeds once again, supporting Call Me Amour at Hyde Park Book Club on the 7th of December. Keep up with Foxhaunt’s latest announcements on their Instagram account on this link.
