Alter Bridge Unleash New Single ‘What Lies Within’

With their long-awaited comeback gathering serious momentum, Alter Bridge have dropped a second single from their upcoming eighth, self titled studio album. The new track, ‘What Lies Within’, is out now on all streaming platforms via Napalm Records.

Opening with a thunderous riff, ‘What Lies Within’ surges forward with a tight ferocious groove. Lyrically, it delves into the darker corners of human nature, warning: “What lies within, beneath the skin, something so dark and foreboding.” The track arrives alongside an animated video directed by J.T. Ibanez.

Following the overwhelming response to ‘Silent Divide’, their first release in two years, the legendary four piece consisting of Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitar), Mark Tremonti (guitars/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums), are gearing up for a massive couple of years.

Due for release on January 9, 2026, Alter Bridge marks the band’s first self-titled album and promises to capture everything fans love about their sound, soaring vocals, colossal riffs, and emotional depth. The record features 12 brand-new tracks, including ‘Rue The Day’, ‘Disregarded’, ‘Scales Are Falling’, plus an epic closer ‘Slave To Master’, the longest song the band have recorded to date. Produced by longtime collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette,
the album was recorded over two months between the legendary 5150 Studios in California and Baskette’s own studio in Florida.

To celebrate the release, Alter Bridge are set to hit the road on a huge world tour. The European leg will kick off on January 15, 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, running through to March 5 in Nottingham, UK. Support will come from Daughtry and Sevendust across the 31-date run, which includes arena stops in London (The O2), Glasgow (OVO Hydro), Dublin (3Arena) and more. The US “What Lies Within Tour” will follow in April, with Filter, Sevendust, and Tim Montana supporting on select dates.

If that wasn’t enough, the band are also stepping into new territory with the launch of their very own Blackbird Festival. Taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Cardiff Castle, the event will be headlined by Alter Bridge themselves, with performances from Skindred, Florence Black, Cardinal Black, with one more act yet to be revealed.

The inaugural Blackbird Festival marks a major milestone for the band, both a celebration of their two-decade legacy and a bold step into curating their own live experience.

Tickets for Blackbird Festival are on sale now via blackbirdfest.com and Ticketmaster.
