Finnish melodic death metal band Omnium Gatherum has released a new music video for their track The Darkest City, taken from their newly released album, May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way (out now via Century Media Records).
Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen called the song “heavy, demanding, and fulfilling,” proudly declaring it the album’s central anthem.
Guitarist Markus Vanhala chose it as his favourite due to its “cinematic and storytelling song” structure, showing the album’s “deeper side”.
May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way has been met with significant praise from music media internationally, including Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Scream and Aardschok.
The record is a loose concept album, telling “stories from the streets” about dreamers, fiends, liars, and wanderers. Themes include addiction, brotherhood and urban chaos.
Pelkonen said the group wanted to “speed things up and turbocharge”, “after the more midtempo focused ’Origin‘“, the band’s previous record.
The band are set to embark on a headline worldwide tour to support the new album. They go to North America in November and December, followed by Finland dates in January. The band will then head to Europe for a tour throughout February and March before playing Spanish dates in April next year. The one UK date on the tour sees Omnium Gatherum playing The Dome in London on March 7th 2026.
Pelkonen said, “We like to tour, and it will be phenomenal to play any and every of the new songs live.” Vanhala added their calendars are “full, just the way we like it,” as they are a “sweaty, honest live band to the core.” You can listen to Omnium Gatherum’s new album May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way on all major music platforms including Spotify, and for tickets to the upcoming tour, you can visit their official website.
