Tucked into the heart of Islington,The Grace has built a reputation as a proving ground for bands on the cusp, an intimate room where momentum either translates or fizzles out. Snake Eyes were very much in the former camp.
Touring their debut album Cash Rich a record already noted for its “gritty and dense bass lines” and unrelenting vocal delivery the Brighton duo arrived with the kind of energy that only comes from years of relentless gigging, the night blurred into a barrage of highlights rather than discrete moments, but that felt appropriate. Snake Eyes don’t deal in neat peaks and valleys; they deal in sustained impact. Even the more melodic cuts were delivered with a bite that kept the tension high throughout.
