Following in the footsteps of their big four thrash metal brothers Slayer, Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2014 are thrilled to announce Megadeth as the final headliners for the festival. Joining New Orleans stoner metal icons Down and black metal legends Emperor, Megadeth complete what is arguably the most formidable trio of Bloodstock Festival headliners ever!
2014 will mark Megadeth’s debut at Bloodstock Open Air, having previously appeared at the UK Sonisphere in 2011 as part of the Big Four event and also at Download several times. Their main man himself Dave Mustaine had this to say about their return to the UK:
“2014 is the 20th Anniversary for ‘Youthanasia’, and we are celebrating that by headlining the Bloodstock Festival in the glorious UK. Every year MEGADETH and our UK fans get closer and celebrate another year of metal greatness together. This is the beginning of 2014…the best is yet to come.”
In addition to the amazing trio of headliners, Saxon, Decapitated and Flotsam & Jetsam are also confirmed to appear at Bloodstock 2014. The team behind Bloodstock are also celebrating this week having won the festival’s second award in as many years, taking home the Best Festival (under 15k size cap) award at the Live UK Music Business Awards 2013.
BOA 2014 will take place on the 7th to the 10th of August 2014 at it’s usual home of Catton Hall in Derbyshire. Early bird tickets are now on sale through the Bloodstock ticket shop at Seetickets for the discounted price of £115 which covers camping and festival attendance for the entire weekend. Having almost sold out the 15,000 ticket allocation in 2013 organisers (and us here at Rocksins) expect BOA 2014 to sell out well in advance based on the amazing headliners alone. Dozens more bands will be added to the line-up as the weeks and months progress.
Anyone wanting to snap up an early bird ticket for Bloodstock 2014 can grab one at the following link – https://bloodstock.seetickets.com/. As more bands are added to the event, Rocksins will be your source of Bloodstock line-up announcements as and when they are confirmed.
