Coming from it’s new home of Newhaven in Derbyshire in the Midlands for 2016, Hevy Fest have made their first announcements of bands for 2016’s line up. And we have to say, it’s a bit of a cracker!
Hevy have come out of the blocks with three big hitters who will be appearing near the top of the bill and first up are tech metal icons Sikth. With their new EP Opacities seeing them heralded once again sounding as good as ever, not to mention the fact they’ll be on tour across the UK supporting Slipknot in ten days time, Sikth are sure to wow the fans at Hevy Fest’s new home.
Joining Sikth are punk legends Refused. With new album Freedom now firmly embedded in the ears, hearts and minds of many, seventeen years after the release of THAT album (The Shape Of Punk To Come), the Swedish maestros will be coming to Hevy Fest for the first time. Also onboard to set the festival alight are Sheffield metalcore superstars While She Sleeps. With Brainwashed also being acclaimed as one of the albums of 2015 and their live shows being held in the highest regard, having these three on board for Hevy 2016 should ensure some amazing performances.
It’s not just Sikth, Refused and While She Sleeps who have been confirmed though. There’s the groove metal of Krokodil, the instrumental tech wizardy of Animals As Leaders and the grime/metal crossover merchants of Hacktivist. There’s also plenty more homegrown talent in the shape of No Consequence, Devil Sold His Soul, Forever Never, Scottish pop rockers Vukovi, Noise merchants Murdock and When Our Time Comes. Oh and we almost forgot the punk stylings of none other than Gnarwolves!
Tickets for Hevy Fest 2016 are priced at just £79 for two days of music and fun, and can be obtained from the official website https://www.hevyfest.com/tickets/. Both headliners are still to be revealed, so keep your eyes peeled for that and more from Hevy Fest in the coming weeks and months here at Rock Sins.
