Video Of The Week (19th April) – Paramore, Set It Off, The Lounge Kittens And More

Rock Sins Video Of The Week

With Wednesday 13 smashing the competition last time out, it’s time for another video of the week! And there’s only one place we could possibly start this time…

Paramore have returned! Our first video of the week features none other than Hayley Williams and co’s first new material in four years and this time they’ve gone distinctly 80’s with a very cool video for the track Hard Times. Whether it’ll please the masses of Paramore fans out there, we’re not sure, there might be a bit of a split. But it’s definitely nice to have them back!

Like J-Rock? How about J-Rock with a London twist. That’s exactly what Esprit D’Air will provide, merging the traditional J-Rock sound with elements of more traditional rock and metal. Based in London, Kai, Ellis and Daishi are quite unlike any other band we’ve heard for some time. Their excellent single Guiding Light is hopefully a precursor to more good things to come later this year.

Continuing the girl power in this weeks’ video of the week are The Lounge Kittens with their amazing video for their version of Usher’s Yeah. If you need something to make you smile this week, just watch this video. It’ll cause grins for days. The Kittens start a UK headline tour this week so if they’re coming to a town near you be sure to check them out in the flesh, you won’t regret it! You can also catch them at this year’s Download Festival come June!

Croydon noise masters Bad Sign are also up for video of the week this time around with the clip for their new single Square One. With their debut album Live & Learn releasing in July, and a bunch of festival appearances scheduled for the Summer, this is a perfect chance to get acquainted with Bad Sign before they have a chance to blow your head off live later in the year.

Taking things retro are US prog rockers Chon, who’ve gone purely 8 bit with their new video for the track Sleepy Tea. With a new album out in June via Sumerian Records, this is a fantastic visual introduction to a band who could appeal to a wide range of people. This will definitely get the gamers’ vote this week!

Last up this week are Florida pop rockers Set It Off, with their new video for Hypnotized. They’ll be returning to the UK next month to play Slam Dunk Festival and for a short run of shows with With Confidence and this brand new single comes at the perfect time ahead of that run of shows. If Hypnotized is your video of the week, please get voting!

This weeks’ video of the week vote will close on the 25th of April at 12pm midday UK time. Good luck to all the bands taking part, and to our readers, get voting!
