Sertraline are back with big news! The Northern UK progressive tech metallers have found their new singer. After months of searching and many auditions, Sertraline are delighted to announce Ben Mars as their new frontman. Ben steps into the considerable shoes of previous frontwoman Lizzie Parry, who left the band last Autumn on good terms.
Here is Sertraline guitarist Tom Wilson on how the band knew early on that Ben was the right choice:
Ben Mars burst through the rehearsal studio doors like a human tornado, holding a 4 pack of beer (which he promises us was 100% not a bribe). As soon as we kicked into our 2020 single “Inside Out”, Ben flawlessly hit those notoriously high notes and we immediately knew he was something special.
Ben’s first appearance with Sertraline will be this weekend. Specifically, Sunday the 29th of May, in Manchester at Satan’s Hollow, when they support Tiberius. Following this, Sertraline have a trio of huge festival sets to come.
Firstly, they will be part of the Boardie Takeover at Download Festival 2022. Taking place on Wednesday the 8th of June, the Boardie Takeover showcases up and coming bands on the hallowed grounds of Donington. Sertraline line up on the Boardie Takeover alongside other bands such as Red Method, Fury UK and Defences.
Moving further into the Summer, Tom, Mike, Si and Ben will also appear at UK Tech-Fest, a festival they are no strangers to. Sertraline hit the stage at UK Tech-Fest on the Thursday of the festival (June 30th). Last but not least, they will also appear on the Saturday of Radar Festival in Guildford (July 30th).
Sertraline’s first music to be released with Ben as singer will come very soon – stay tuned. You can Follow them on Instagram for the latest updates.
