Crushed By Waves Announce Debut Album “More To Life” and Release New Single “You Know”

Off the back of a fantastic 2023, Manchester’s rising rock quartet Crushed By Waves are picking up where they left off, with a debut album on the way and a brand new single titled You Know!

Their latest track is a sweltering, slow-burning anthem showcasing both the band’s versatility and range of frontman Arran Prime. The bands latest release offers something a bit different compared to previous singles Too Much Too Fast, Nothing Left and Won’t Get Out Alive. The dark melodic synths create a mysterious edge before the distortion rips through, accompanied by vocals that range from relatively serene to an eruption of grit.

Alongside the track comes a stylish video by the talented Oli Duncanson. Depicted primarily in what looks like a private gambling club, the video is shot in black and white. However, this aversion to colour has an exception as vivid blood-red colours are sprinkled symbolically throughout. This serves as a nod to the American neo-noir crime anthology, Sin City as the band intimated. You can view the video below:

Speaking about the new song and its accompanying music video, the band stated:

You Know was a wildcard for us boys. We had a lot of fun with this track experimenting with new ideas. Especially making the music video which has a ‘Sin City’ inspired look. I think we did a good job of capturing the concept of desire and power in this one. Fun fact, the ‘wine’ we are all sipping is actually straight cordial Vimto. We had brought a bottle of red wine to the set, but then forgot a wine-opener! This was only made even more hilarious by the fact that none of us knew how to play poker.”

You Know alongside the already released singles will feature on the upcoming debut album More To Life which is scheduled for release later this year, though the exact date is unconfirmed.
