The Christmas content we never knew we needed! Not just for those who love Metallica, but for anyone who enjoys hearing a story read well. Frontman James Hetfield, aka Papa Het, reading the classic children’s Christmas story “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”.
This surprise audio reading landed on Metallica’s YouTube channel earlier today. It’s accompanied by a very cosy looking fire in the video. But that’s enough blathering from us, check it out below:
Metallica were most recently in the UK playing their homage to Ozzy Osbourne as part of the incredible Back To The Beginning show. They will return to UK shores in 2026, including for a double header of shows at London’s Olympic Stadium (home of West Ham United) on the 3rd and 5th of July. The double header will be a “no repeat weekend”, meaning across the two nights no songs will be repeated. This matches their previous full length appearance headlining Download Festival 2023.
