US rock icons Linkin Park have today announced the details of their upcoming documentary movie Unshatter. Directed and put together by the band’s own Joe Hahn, Unshatter will tell the story of Linkin Park coping with the loss of Chester Bennington, getting together with new frontwoman Emily Armstrong, leading all the way to their triumphant live return.
Fans will see glimpses of Linkin Park from all angles, including previously unseen archive footage, behind the scenes footage, and studio recordings, all the way to footage of recent live performances. Unshatter will be released in cinemas on September 30th, in a variety of countries and formats. In select locations, as well as standard 2D screenings, fans will be able to experience Unshatter in ScreenX and 4DX. More information is available at the Unshatter Movie website. Commenting on his creation, Joe Hahn initially had this to say about Unshatter:
“UNSHATTER follows a very particular moment in Linkin Park’s history and documents a path through loss, uncertainty, friendship, and reinvention,” shares Joe Hahn. “I hope longtime fans see parts of our journey they’ve never seen before, and I hope people who are just discovering our music come away with a better understanding of how we got here. But even beyond Linkin Park, I hope people connect with it as a story about relationships, resilience, and what it really takes to move forward when you don’t have all the answers.”
Releasing alongside the movie, there is a companion live album releasing – Unshatter (Live In Sao Paulo). The live album will release on September 25th. The first taste of that comes in the form of Somewhere I Belong from that show, which can be enjoyed below:
