In recent years, the British metal festival calendar has kicked off with the annual trip to North Wales for Hammerfest and 2015 will be no different. Hammerfest 7 will be returning to it’s regular home at Hafan Y Mor Holiday Park and they’ve just announced the first group of bands that will play at the festival next March.
Top of the bill in round one of the bands announced are two bands about as different as you can get; British doom/stoner outfit Orange Goblin and US power metal maestros Kamelot. Kamelot in particular is an impressive coup for Hammerfest as this is (to our knowledge) their first major UK festival appearance, ever!
The rest of the announcement is a mix of homegrown talent and metal from lands near and far. Flying the British flag are Angel Witch, Winterfylleth, Evil Scarecrow, RSJ and our friends in Hang The Bastard. Flying in to wow the masses at Hammerfest are France’s finest industrial metal export Mass Hysteria, Norwegian doom masters Sahg, Swedish melodeth act Darkane, the viking metal pair of Skálmöld & Einherjer and the folky power metal stylings of Elvenking.
Tickets are available from Hammerfest’s website www.hammerfest.co.uk. Less than 100 rooms are left in the holiday park already so if you wish to attend Hammerfest 7 you’ll need to be quick!
