Boysetsfire are a band, that, at least in the UK seem to have travelled largely under the radar. Their reunion for a farewell tour last year was woefully under promoted, being discovered by this writer by pure accident. A great accident as it happens as it was one of the best gigs I have attended of recent times, and was named my gig of 2011 in the annual Rocksins awards that each of does at the end of every year.
When the news broke that Boysetsfire were returning to Europe for another jaunt to play more shows, after the success of the previous years’ gig attendance on my part was compulsory, and Islington Academy once again provided the venue for their visit to London. With old school punk rock band Off With Their Heads in tow as support, Boysetsfire were set to tear London a new one once again.
