Its been rumoured, suggested and threatened for the last three years (even to the point where the band’s legendary frontman Chris Jericho himself once told Rocksins they were negotiating over an appearance) but plans for Bloodstock Open Air 2013 have now really kicked off with a blast and the news that FOZZY will be making their Catton Hall debut in 2013. The Fozzy frontman also had this to say about their forthcoming trip to Bloodstock next year:

Next summer, it’s going to be such an honour for FOZZY to be a part of the biggest growing festival in the entire UK! I’ve been following the evolution of Bloodstock for years now, and this fest reminds me a lot of FOZZY…getting bigger every year, and poised to take over the world! I promise that this will be the biggest FOZZY show EVER and we can’t wait to tear your f&@king heads off, England!!!!

That’s not all as in addition to Fozzy and the already announced thrash legends Anthrax the powers that be at Bloodstock have added two more quality bands to the lineup at this early stage; Currently doing their best to keep the Greek economy afloat single handedly, power metal wizards Firewind will be returning to Bloodstock in 2013. Powered by Gus G’s shredding skills and the vocals of Apollo Papathanasio, Firewind will be very welcome returning guests to Bloodstock. Completing the trio of new additions are German metal legends Accept. A band who have been well acquainted with appearing at BOA in recent years, their brand of European metal is always guaranteed to go down extremely well in the Derbyshire fields.

In true Bloodstock tradition, early bird tickets for the 2013 edition of the festival are now available at for the exclusive early bird price of £100 plus booking fee. This offer will not last long so if you like what’s on the lineup already snap them up now. Bloodstock Open Air 2013 will take place from the 8th – 11th of August 2013.
