They did it in 2008, and also on the main stage of Download on the closing day in 2009. Now UK rock titans Def Leppard and Whitesnake have decided to team up once again, seven years after the original tour for an enormous December arena tour. The trek will take in 10 shows across the UK and Ireland, beginning in Dublin on December 6th and finishing up with a hometown show for Def Leppard at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena 13 days later. Support on the tour will come in the very able form of Black Star Riders (the former Thin Lizzy for those not familiar with the group’s current activities). Full details of the tour can be found below:

Def Leppard’s iconic frontman Joe Elliott had this to say about the tour:
“I am very excited to be working with Whitesnake again; we had such a wonderful time when we did it back in 2008. It’s a great experience for rock fans to be able to see two great live bands on the same stage on the same night.”
Meanwhile, Whitesnake’s shy and retiring (or not) singer David Coverdale had this to add:
“Ohh, have you got trouble…Brother Joe & The Lepps?…DC & The Snakes?… Them Black Star Riders?…On the same night???…I can’t wait!!…SEE YOU THERE!!!”
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Wednesday the 1st of April at 10am priced at €59.50 & €64.50 in Dublin, £49.50 in Belfast and £45 for all other UK shows (subject to booking fees and postage charges). Tickets can be obtained from the good people at Live Nation on the following link – https://www.livenation.co.uk/artist/def-leppard-tickets. Def Leppard are an institution of British rock and everyone should see them at least once. Now is a particularly poignant time for the band, with guitarist Viv Campbell have recently battled cancer. Viv is thankfully in remission, so let’s hope he’s seen it off once and for all and will remain healthy for these shows.
