With only three weeks to go until Hevy Fest 2015 invades it’s pleasant home in the Kent countryside among the animals at Port Lympne, the organisers recently announced plans for a) some more intimate first night entertainment and b) how to get your boogie on after the bands have finished.

Thursday night at Hevy 2015 will see the second stage time play host to some acoustic performances for those who arrive at Hevy nice and early before the main event kicks off Friday morning. Topping Thursday nights bill is the always crowd pleasing and multi-talented Jamie Lenman. Jamie will be joined by Sam Duckworth (the former Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly) and Dave McPherson of InMe to name just two of the many performers appearing. Also on board for what promises to be a night of singalongs are Lightyear singer Chas Palmer Williams, Sean McGowan, The Lion and The Wolf and The Gospel Youth.

Once the bands stop, the now almost obligatory appearances from some of London’s most well known rock and metal club night DJ’s will take place. Once Coheed and Cambria are done wow’ing everyone with their prog wizardry on Friday night, Total Uprawr are hitting the decks, complete with post-hardcore favourites Funeral For A Friend making a guest DJ visit to Hevy. Saturday night following Thrice Face Down will take over, featuring none other than Radio One Rock Show main man and Krokodil riff master Daniel P Carter behind the turntables. If Facedown isn’t your thing then the third stage will play host to Ultimate Power for the world’s finest power ballads into the wee hours at Hevy’s first ever silent disco. So there is bound to be something for almost everyone among the late night fun.

In addition to headliners Coheed and Cambria and Thrice, Hevy Fest 2015 features the likes of Fightstar, The Fall Of Troy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Protest The Hero, As It Is, Fort Hope, Hacktivist, God Damn, Hang The Bastard, Creeper, Horse The Band, Stick To Your Guns and dozens more across three stages on the 14th and 15th of August. Tickets are just £89 and can be snapped up from www.hevyfest.com. Go on then, what are you waiting for?
