With the season of festival announcements well and truly underway, Slam Dunk Festival 2016 have announced another eleven bands to join the fun for the May Bank Holiday triple header event in Leeds, Birmingham and Hatfield.

This announcement focuses heavily on home grown talent – in fact, only one of the bands isn’t from the UK. That would be Japanese rockers Coldrain, having recently had great success touring with Bullet For My Valentine and While She Sleeps here in the UK are set for more good times on British soil at Slam Dunk this May.

Now, to the homegrown talent. First up are London quintet Young Guns, fresh from their comeback year and comeback album Ones and Zeros, Gus and the boys will be bringing their well loved brand of alt rock to Slam Dunk stages. They will be joined by numerous up and coming young British bands in the shape of Top 40 chart success story As It Is, WSTR and Trash Boat.

Two veterans of the UK diy punk scene are also on board for this year’s Slam Dunk Festival festivities in the shape of Spunge and King Prawn, who will be out to show their younger contemporaries exactly how it’s done. For those who like their genre’s mixed, there’s plenty to enjoy in the shape of Astroid Boys, The One Hundred and especially rising stars The Qemists. Lastly, and most heavily, metalcore stars Heart Of A Coward are set to blow the heads off the attendees in Hatfield, Birmingham and Leeds with their crushing brand of UK metal.
