Video Of The Week (15th February) – Venom Prison, Stand Atlantic, O.R.k w/ Serj Tankian and Many More!

Rock Sins Video Of The Week

Last time Lincolnshire rockers Project Redshift won a titanic battle to be crowned winners of video of the week. With that contest done and dusted, it’s time for five more bands to do battle.

We had previously set the line up for this weeks’ video of the week, but then Venom Prison went and dropped the first single from their upcoming second album Samsara and so we did what all sensible outlets would do and squeezed them in. The single, Uterine Industrialisation, sees them returning fiercer than ever, and that’s something that fully comes across the video. Don’t take our word for it, watch the video and check the track out now.

Aussie pop rockers Stand Atlantic are next up with their beautiful track Toothpick. The video is a wonderful example of how to make a brilliantly effective, simple video, with subtle touches making all the difference. A little bit of a contrast to Venom Prison would be an understatement!

Nottingham sextet Crosslight are the latest in a long line of interesting bands to emerge from the lands of Sherwood Forest. Their new single, Run Into Flowers, is an impressive introduction to the band, coming from their 2018 album Road To Recovery. The dark subject matter belies the uptempo nature of the song, which will likely leave you wanting more.

With members of King Crimson and Porcupine Tree amongst them, as well as an award winning composer, O.R.k are something rather unique. Their new album Ramagehead drops next Friday (22nd Feb), but ahead of that they’ve released the new single Black Blooms featuring none other than Serj Tankian from System Of A Down on vocals. A melancholic, dark, slow building track, the video is suitably dark to match.

Described as a nod to social media and not being able to do anything anymore without someone watching, Littlehampton punks Gloo have returned with their new single Stop and Stare. It’s a colourful video to accompany a song that is very punk on the surface with a serious message underpinning it.

The vote will close at 12pm midday UK time on Thursday the 21st of February! Get voting!
