Some big Monday afternoon news from the Slipknot camp. The band has parted ways with long term percussionist Chris Fehn effective immediately.

This news comes hot on the heels of the story that broke late last week that Fehn was suing the band with issues allegedly surrounding his payment and compensation during his time in the band.

Slipknot have released the following statement via their website about the departure:

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever.

“Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot.

“We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.

“Long Live The Knot.”

Chris Fehn himself has yet to make any kind of public comment regarding his exit from the band.

Slipknot are preparing to hit the road this summer for Eurpopean Festival commitments before embarking on a U.S run with Gojira, Volbeat and Behemoth. The band has yet to announce if a replace for Fehn will be handling these dates of if they will continue as an 8 piece in the immediate future.

Slipknot will headline the Download Festival on June 15th.Tickets for which can be purchased here: https://downloadfestival.co.uk/tickets/

They will release their new album on August 6th via Roadrunner Records.
