For the first time in 8 years, Takedown Festival returns this weekend! Moving from it’s previous home of Southampton University to Portsmouth Guildhall, it promises to kick start your Easter weekend with much a serious dose of heaviness.
Split over 5 stages, there will be something for everyone, no matter what flavour of Rock & Metal you favour. Headliners Skindred & Sleep Token will both be looking to get you in the mood on a Saturday night. Whether it’s with the hard rocking reggae metal vibes of Skindred, or the more contemplative sultry tones of everyone’s favourite deity worshipping sad boys Sleep Token. Both sets are sure to be explosive centrepieces on top of an already stacked lineup.
Elsewhere throughout the day InMe will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album Overgrown Eden with a full album Playthrough. Hometown heroes Seething Akira will be looking to put the bounce in the moshpit on the mainstage, alongside other UK up & comers Loathe & Red Method both of which will be looking to light up the stage with explosive sets.
Fearless Vampire Killers return to inject a little nostalgia into proceedings & Jamie Lenman will be bringing a touch of class to everyone’s day. If you fancy a chuckle and a sing a long, the boys in Punk Rock Factory have you covered, with what will surely be one of the most fun sets of the day. Other notable appearances will be coming from Palm Reader, Ithaca & Heart of a Coward, As December Falls, Our Hollow Our Home & a whole host of other great bands & DJ’s spread throughout the day.
Takedown promises to be a fun filled day full of some of the best bands the scene has to offer right now. After such a lengthy absence it feels good to have the festival back and this will hopefully be the start of a long & healthy second life for this fan favourite event.
