Having already dominated headlines for nearly two straight weeks. Back to the Beginning, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s farewell show is now set to get its own theatrical release in 2026. Entitled ‘Back To The Beginning – Ozzy’s Final Bow’.
Mercury Studio’s, who were responsible for capturing the historic event, have announced the big screen evolution of Back to the Beginning will be a very different animal to the version watched by millions via live stream too. Promising to distil the essence of heavy metals most iconic show into just 100 minutes. Placing the spotlight on more than just the stage.
Presenting it as a more focused celebration of the enduring legacy of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. The feature film will include exclusive behind the scenes footage from the event. As well as interviews from some of the laundry list of icons on the bill. All interwoven with footage from the event itself. Aiming to capture the emotional weight of the day to the fullest. Giving those who were in attendance, everyone who watched via livestream and anyone unlucky enough to have missed the landmark concert a chance to experience it on the silver screen.

Mercury Productions have also hinted at a physical release to follow later in 2026, although details remain scarce. While an eight hour long live album is a lot to wish for. We can only hope it will come with a proverbial kitchen sink’s worth of extra features. Because frankly, the stage crew alone deserve their own documentary for their incredible work!
