Slayer Announced as Final Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2013 Headliners

In news that was officially confirmed late last night, and accidentally leaked a few hours prior to that by our friends over at Metal Hammer courtesy of a rotating ad banner put up a little bit early, the mighty SLAYER have been announced as the third and final headliner for Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2013. The thrash legends, one quarter of “the big four” will be making their Bloodstock debut and will be closing the festival on the Sunday night in a way that only Slayer can. Fans who are there will be in for a real treat with another member of the big four appearing directly underneath Slayer as Anthrax take the special guest slot on the Sunday. When the Slayer camp were asked to comment on their forthcoming appearance at Bloodstock, guitarist Kerry King was happy to oblige:

“Can’t wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock! Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes!! It’s going to be hell on earth and I’m looking forward to having a party with all my British friends.”

Slayer join Lamb of God and King Diamond as a trio of brand new headliners for the 2013 edition of Bloodstock Open Air at Catton Hall in Derbyshire. Also appearing across the weekend will be Accept, Avantasia, Anthrax, Devildriver, Kataklysm, Firewind, Fozzy, Amorphis and many more bands with loads of bands still to be announced by the organisers. Early bird tickets for Bloodstock GO OFF SALE at the end of this week (Friday 14th December 2012) so if you are definitely going to Bloodstock and you haven’t bought your ticket yet, act quickly to save yourself £25 compared to the standard price.
