Hot on the heels of the last Download Festival announcement (read that here), Bloodstock have responded with a new set of bands of their own, and as per usual, there are some gems in this group of bands.
One of the pioneers of modern hardcore, this Bloodstock Festival band announcement is headed by Biohazard. With a new album imminent through their legendary label Nuclear Blast, Biohazard are coming to lay waste to the Ronnie James Dio main stage at Bloodstock 2014. Singer Billy Graziadei had this simple message for everyone:
“We’ve watched some awesome Bloodstock line-ups over the past few years and we’re very psyched to be part of this one! See you in da pit!”
Despite her new position as front woman for Nightwish, Floor Jansen’s other band ReVamp are still going strong and ReVamp will be gracing the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock this year. Floor is excited about the prospect too, commenting:
“Revamp is thrilled to play at Bloodstock this summer! It’s a great festival with a strong metal heart in a metal-loving country for which we have nothing but great memories. We can’t wait to rock the British crowd again!”
It’s not everyday that a band who’ve had a campaign behind them to get nominated for the nobel peace prize (or at least one not associated with Bono) come to town, but then Bloodstock 2014 is no ordinary festival. The BOA team are delighted to welcome Israeli prog metallers Orphaned Land to Catton Hall this coming August. Touring in support of their new album All Is One, they are a band not to be missed.
Last but not least, Belgian death metal outfit Aborted are coming to Catton Hall this Summer. By then they will be armed with their new album The Necrotic Manifesto, which is currently in production and will be out this Summer through Century Media Records in time for the Summer festival fun.
With these four bands joining headliners Down, Emperor and Megadeth in addition to the likes of Amon Amarth, Carcass, Saxon, Obituary, Hatebreed, Lacuna Coil and dozens more, Bloodstock Open Air is the affordable metal festival of choice for those who like their metal on the more hardened edges of the genre. Tickets start from just £130 with VIP and upgrade options available, and all of the different ticketing possibilities can be seen at the official festival site https://www.bloodstock.uk.com/. Further updates about Bloodstock 2014 will be announced here as and when they are made.
