Bossk and Anaal Nathrakh Join Headliner Ihsahn at Leeds Ritual Festival 2017

Ritual Festival 2017 Line Up Poster

Ritual Festival in Leeds was already a festival that had attracted our attention. Boasting Emperor man Ihsahn performing his (excellent and engaging) solo material as headliner, and with UK talent such as Conjurer also on the line up, it looked an intriguing new festival.

They have now announced some new and final additions to the line up, with two names in particular attracting our attention. Firstly, UK extreme metal icons Anaal Nathrakh will be appearing at Ritual Festival. The highlight for many of any festival they play, expect Anaal Nathrakh to lay waste in their usual style.

Also appearing at Ritual Festival are British post-metallers Bossk, who are delighted to be playing the event, as bassist Tom Begley explains:

‘Leeds has always been a historic city for our band, lots of our first really good shows were there. We were really impressed with its local scene even back in 2005, and played many shows with Humanfly. To see Canvas playing a show together again will be great, and will bring out lots of old faces from way back when we first played in Leeds.

To be part of such a diverse bill is also fantastic, and is a testament to how good the Northern music scene is. This will be our first show of 2017, and our first with copies of the .1/.2 re-release LP.

Ihshan released one of the best records of 2016, so really looking forward to seeing some of those tracks live. Also APMD have just finished a record, so hopefully they will be playing new tracks too. Support underground UK festivals like Ritual, they are a great chance to see a varied lineup like this, and only exist with fans support.’

Also added to the line up are London death metallers Unfathomable Ruination and the sludge metal stylings of Kurokuma.
