After the huge excitement and insane numbers of votes that carried Not Ur Girlfrenz to the title of video of the year for 2018, it’s time to start all over again with Rock Sins video of the week contests in 2019!
A brand new band, featuring members of many excellent bands are kicking us off today. IMonolith, featuring members of The Devin Townsend Project, Threat Signal and Strapping Young Lad, have unveiled their debut single Hollow. With shows in Canada coming up in February, Hollow showcases exactly what IMonolith are all about with a very simple but effective video.
With their brand new album Hands Of Time coming out in March, blues rock duo The Picturebooks have unveiled their brand new video Electric Nights. Showcasing just what it means to be in The Picturebooks, their new single is an excellent window into the band who have a European and UK headline tour coming in April and May.
Never a band to shy away from a party and a good time, Caleb Schomo and Beartooth are currently tearing it up across the UK and Europe with Architects, so it’s a perfect time for them to roll out their new video for You Never Know. It’s Beartooth doing what they do best, big riffs and big vocal hooks aplenty.
Newly signed to the mighty UNFD Records, Aussie alt-rock / pop rockers Yours Truly have announced their new EP Afterglow with the bright and breezy video for Circles. Another band keeping it simple and doing what they do very well, on this evidence we’re looking forward to catching them when they come to the UK for their Download Festival debut in June.
Lastly we’ve got a wonderful juxtaposition for you all courtesy of metallic-hardcore mob Ithaca. Their upcoming album The Language Of Injury is going to make a serious impact on the UK metal scene this year (read our review of it here), but ahead of the album release on February 1st, we have the video for new single Impulse Crush. Where else but in the world of metal would you combine some of the heaviest sounds possible with a boatload of confetti?
